Roarke is by her side, as usual, to lend his support and help. Which scene was your favorite? I love her supporting characters. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good murder mystery. I found that Eve here was a little less kickass so much of the murder. This is what every audiophile searches for in an audio experience. Clues suggest Deena may not be the only victim targeted by her killer and increase the pressure on Dallas and her cohorts. Also Charles and Louise got married on this one.
I always love the scenes between Eve and Rourke. The cops on her team and her friends. I felt so sad and angry, I think I know how Eve felt every time. What is awesome is that Eve is actually growing as a character and is learning to deal with her past in healthier ways. She is fun writer and it is a light read.
Plus I love games where one plays against the computer. Perhaps it is because this is the 29th book, but it is almost as if Robb has a checklist of moments for each character: Eve has a nightmare check , Roarke worms his way into the investigation check , Summerset says something endearingly snarky check , Peabody and McNab moon over each other check , and so on. It has everything - an intriguing story, lots of imaginative police work, all of our favourite characters and even a wedding. Robb are a match made in heaven. Deena has been brutally murdered in her bedroom, and her body shows signs of trauma that horrify even the toughest of cops, including our own Lieutenant Eve Dallas, who is specifically requested by the captain to investigate.
He smiled at her as he had when she'd walked down a white runner to an arbor of white roses toward him. She knows and inhabits her cast of characters decisively, while carefully mining the little diamonds of growth and change that Robb seeds into these stories. The second thing is Eve and Roarke are the perfect couple. But, it's tougher on Eve because she was a childhood victim of abuse and these kind of cases hit her hard. You got off on it.
She continues to be one of my favorite characters. Even though the wedding was mostly in the background it was still interesting. I wish they harmed him physically or at least included some of his prison time in epilogue. You root for them and feel strongly about their adventures and relationships, quests, and paths towards justice and finding love. Most of the time, the pages of description of their sexual couplings could be omitted without changing the book for me. She has brought Robb's characters to life for me. Looking forward to the next one.
Roarke is once again a lovely and supportive husband. Her husband, Roarke, has a lot to do The murder mystery in this book is pretty good. I have a hard time believing that Eve would actually be close with someone so flamboyant and bubbly. She was named to the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame. Rape multiple times, sodomized, tortured and strangulation. Deena has been brutally murdered in her bedroom, and her body shows signs of trauma that horrify even the toughest of cops, including our own Lieutenant Eve Dallas, who is specifically requested by the captain to investigate.
